The Children’s Justice Act Committee (CJAC), a State Task Force under the federal Child Abuse and Prevention Treatment Act (CAPTA) that funds much of Maryland CASA’s training opportunities, is preparing the Three-Year Assessment of the child welfare system in Maryland. This assessment looks specifically at the administrative, investigative, and judicial handling of child abuse and neglect cases with a specific focus on child sexual abuse and exploitation. The Committee is conducting a survey to gather feedback and information from individuals who work with children and families that will be used to inform the assessment. The assessment will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services in early March so please complete the survey by 2/28/18.
